Chef / Restaurant Manager

Hotel Elysium is seeking an experienced, creative, and hospitality-driven Chef / Restaurant Manager to help lead the opening of a new boutique hotel restaurant, bar, and event program in downtown Ely, Minnesota.

Position Overview :

Key Responsiblities :

  • Lead and oversee daily kitchen and restaurant operations
  • Assist with ordering and managing food, beverage, liquor, wine, and event inventory
  • Help develop seasonal menus, specials, cocktail pairings, and event offerings
  • Manage and mentor kitchen staff while helping oversee restaurant and event staff alongside hotel management
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and organization

Job Requiements :

  • 3–5+ years of culinary leadership or restaurant management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food costs, inventory, and team leadership
  • Experience in upscale dining, boutique hospitality, or event-driven environments preferred
  • Knowledge of Toast POS, spreadsheets, ordering systems, and general computer skills preferred
  • Appreciation for elevated comfort food, seasonal ingredients, cocktails, wine, and Northwoods hospitality
